We believe that prefabrication promotes quality. The ability to prefabricate unitized components in controlled conditions eliminates the variability of external environmental conditions and affords an increased opportunity for quality assurance. Prefabrication also enhances productivity and efficiency. Congestion on jobsites erodes efficiency, decreases production, and impacts schedule. The ability to unitize the exterior assembly creates predictability, accelerates installation, and benefits both cost and schedule.

Facilities

Our two state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in Omaha, NE and Des Moines, IA allow us to move fabrication and assembly operations in-house as appropriate for innovative project-specific solutions. Our centralized Midwest locations allow convenient access for transportation and logistics.

Network of Suppliers

Driven by the needs of the project, we collaborate with qualified vendors – both domestic and international. Our trusted partners have a track record of quality, responsiveness, and performance. Design details, often initiated by our in-house staff of architects and engineers, are developed in collaboration with our partners to ensure the ability to execute the assembly, while also ensuring quality and economy.

MINNEAPOLIS PUBLIC SERVICE BUILDING | MINNEAPOLIS, MN
AWS was selected as the design-assist exterior envelope partner on the 11-story Public Services Building for the City of Minneapolis. In the heart of downtown, this new facility boasts an impressive unitized curtain wall facade composed of glass and aluminum. To meet project schedule, we collaborated with the design and project team: utilizing BIM 360 coordination to obtain early shop drawing approvals and releases to start procuring and fabricating materials as soon as possible. Our partner of more than 20 years, Baker Metals, was able to fabricate and assemble both a visual and performance mockup as well as the unitized curtainwall at their facility in Dallas, TX. Early involvement, trusted partnerships, and quality products during the fabrication process allowed for a smooth installation and a high-performing result for the City of Minneapolis.

RIVER'S EDGE OFFICE DEVELOPMENT | COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA
The system design and requirements for the River’s Edge Office Development in Council Bluffs, IA, were a great fit for AWS to assemble the project’s unitized curtain wall in-house at our Omaha and Des Moines facilities. Our close proximity to the jobsites allowed for a minimal footprint on site with just-in-time deliveries.
