The Ambulatory Care Center at the VA Omaha's campus will serve a primarily outpatient veteran population and be joined to the existing VA Medical Center. This project features a very robust and complex curtain wall system, meeting specified blast criteria and accommodating the intricate designs set forth by the architectural team. Some of these unique attributes include a "flag" wall on the north, designed to look like a flag flying in the wind. Another is the west elevation that is intended to represent the ribbon rack badges on a military uniform. AWS partnered with Seedorff Masonry, Inc. to install 25,000 sq. ft. of stone cladding as well.
