Iowa State University's Student Innovation Center aims to inspire students to innovate through experimentation and collaboration. The project features a unique, custom pleated curtain wall system. Each unit incorporates two clear vision lites with a full-height shadow box on one side, allowing natural light into the building while reducing energy transfer. Across elevations, the pleats accordion from flat to angled, utilizing 17 different angles throughout the design. Perforated and solid aluminum panels can also be found throughout the façade.
