Grinnell College’s Humanities and Social Studies Center blends traditional architecture with a modern flair. The project consisted of adding two new buildings, renovating two existing buildings, and joining them together with a three-story glass atrium. Weathered copper panels flank the atrium on one of the education wings, and a circular skylight brings in even more light into the communal space. AWS was a design-assist partner for Grinnell HSSC, working alongside EYP and McGough Construction.
